Nissan’s ute with extras

NISSAN has some good news for admirers of its tough Navara ute, a special edition Navara 450 with some extras for the discerning buyer is on offer now.

The not so good news is that they will have to be quick. Only 60 of the special edition Navara 450s will be available throughout the whole country.

The special edition Navara takes its name from its powerful engine, a 2.3 litre twin turbo intercooled diesel that gives maximum torque of 450Nm at a low 1500 rpm.

It is mated with a seven-speed automatic transmission with the choice of using tiptronic for manual type control.

The Navara 450 has a 3.5 tonne towing capacity.

Another big attraction is that this serious grunt is available with a low fuel consumption of only 6.8 litres/100 kms.

The Navara 450 is based on the Navara ST two-wheel-drive but comes with some tempting extras such as black 20-inch alloys, a deckliner, an alloy lift-top hard lid, and a tow bar.

These accessories have a total value of $6000 but because they are part of a special package, you drive away in a Navara 450 for $39,990 plus GST.

On top of that Nissan has a 2.9 percent finance offer for 36 months so the total effect on your bank balance will be lighter than might be expected.

The standard package on the Navara 450 is also enticing, with running boards, privacy glass, Bluetooth connectivity and cruise control.

There are three colours available for the Navara 450 — hornet gold, granite which is a kind of dark grey and silver.

The Navara 450 has satellite navigation with 3D mapping showing on a seven-inch touchscreen, a reversing camera, front fog lights, heated door mirrors with power adjustment, and chrome door handles. Nothing has been spared on the interior luxury with features like fatigue reducing seats, while the back passengers enjoy their own air conditioning zone.

A full safety package ticks every box, from seven airbags to traction control and brake assist.

The Navara 450 really does meet the challenge of driving like a car and being something that will adapt seamlessly from the working week to your leisure time.

Nissan has a real pedigree in the utility world, with 80 years experience that has seen 14 million vehicles sold in 180 countries. The Navara 450 deserves its place in that illustrious squad.
