Business Central

As a regional partner in the national BusinessNZ network, Business Central brings you highly personal local support through our regional Employment Relations (ER) consultants, professional training held across the Central Region, and networking events to promote trade and enterprise. This is combined with access to a national and international network of sister organisations, advocacy and representation to local and national government, and a suite of employer resources like our weekly employer bulletin, our employers’ resource portal and our bi-annual, free, member only member briefings.

Organisations of all sizes and sectors enjoy the benefits of Business Central membership. Eighty percent of our members have 1-50 employees, which includes the 30 percent who are small and medium enterprises (SMEs) with 4-20 employees. Our commitment to our members resulted in 6500 unique member engagements in 2016 alone.

Our first line of support for our members is our 12-hour a day (8am–8pm, Mon–Fri) employers’ advice line. This advice line is your first go-to for top-rate employment relations advice. In 2016, we took over 1626 calls to support our members with dedicated employer advisers.

We provide practical professional training on management/leadership, interpersonal communications, workplace culture, and up-to-the-minute Health and Safety (H&S) and employment relations to name just a few. Our trainers focus on common sense approaches to handling real-life situations. If we don’t have the perfect course for you right now, we can easily adapt our training courses to meet your individual needs.

Members also gain access to our business mentors and skilled newcomers’ programmes, as well as member-to-member marketing opportunities and discounts. Member-to-member deals can range from 6c off per litre with Caltex to two months free off a 12-month subscription with getsmart marketing intelligence.
