Local artists on show

ANNUAL DISPLAY: Untitled by Derek Solomon, one of the artists whose work is in the Gisborne Artists Society and Gisborne Potters exhibition, opening tomorrow evening at the Tairawhiti Museum evening.

The Gisborne Artists Society and Gisborne Potters exhibition opens tomorrow and is the one opportunity the creatives have to show what they have produced over the year. Stars of this year’s show include Gisborne Pottery Group members Jamie Quirk and Peggy Ericson.

Among other artists are landscape painters Roger Shanks and Graeme Nicoll, Norman Maclean, and Janet Roderick who has taken a break from oils and is working with coloured pencils.

Printmakers include recent Molly Morpeth Award winner Ian McKelvey, and Te Wananga o Aotearoa student Amber Graham.
