Feelers frontman fronting in Gizzy

James Reid

The frontman of acclaimed New Zealand band The Feelers, James Reid, will perform in Gisborne at Smash Palace on Wednesday, November 28.

As the vocalist, guitarist and songwriter for The Feelers, he has established himself as one of New Zealand’s most successful songwriters and musicians. He and his band have sold more albums than any other New Zealand band and have released many Top 10 songs that will forever be embedded in the Kiwi psyche, including Venus and Pressure Man. After the success of his debut solo album Saint, Reid has further established himself as a successful solo artist by following on with consistent single releases.

Reid will perform a selection of his extensive catalogue, of solo and acoustic work, in exactly the way they are written.

Brendan McCarthy adds to the Gisborne show with a solo acoustic set. McCarthy is the frontman and songwriter for upcoming Tauranga rock band Apollo Steamtrain, whose recent successes include having tracks synced on several high profile TV shows including Shortland Street and Filthy Rich.

  • James Reid with Brendan McCarthy at Smash Palace. Saturday, November 28 from 8pm. $35 from Eventfinder or the venue.
