Dream on a crystal clear ocean

It’s not art as we know it but since our new murals of dying whales, ocean apocalypse and chopped seals connect in a loose, flowing seaweedy fashion with the theme of the Ocean Film Tour, Volume 5, we’ll include it here.

Adventure, action and ocean life star in the doco. It’s got surfing, crushing wipeouts, heroic barrel exits, dolphins, the discovery of swimming, survival-grade Atlantic crossing in a catamaran, free diving, philosophy and a banging soundtrack. Vol 5 includes sea-soaked action sequences of Hawaiian kitesurfer, windsurfer, and big-wave, tow-in, and stand-up paddle surfer Kai Lenny, danger-seekers on Nazaré’s gargantuan mountains of water, and an ode to waves as Morgan Maassen plunges under the water with his high-contrast, slow-motion camera to show the sea from a new perspective.

Trailers for the Ocean Film Tour line-ups are mind-blowingly exciting. Check out the Vol 5 trailer at tinyurl.com/y9fgpcxk

Set sail for Ocean Film Tour, Volume 5, at the Dome, tonight and Saturday at 8pm, and Friday January 25 at 6pm. Tickets $14 at the door. To reserve seats email sally@domecinema.co.nz.

Do you think the speed limit on SH35 at Tamarau, Okitu and Wainui should be reduced to 50kmh, and the end of Okitu to the end of Tatapouri be reduced to 70kmh?
