Ready or not

Space invaders crab back and forth like they did in the 1980s arcade game in rising Kiwi rap stars Church & AP’s music video for Ready or Not, a hit they’re sure to play at their show in Gisborne next week. The hunched green icons might be old school for a couple of young fullahs like the teen rappers but Ready or Not is dominating streaming platforms and radio, and is making its way from heavy rotate on hip-hop and RnB station Mai FM to the UK’s BBC Radio 1xtra.

Church & AP came together as a duo through taking part in local community hall music programs in Auckland’s Mount Roskill and Te Atatu. From there, the duo’s blend of southern/UK rap fused with grime has done all the talking.

Check out Church & AP live at the War Memorial Theatre at 8.30pm next Thursday. $15 at the door.

Do you think the speed limit on SH35 at Tamarau, Okitu and Wainui should be reduced to 50kmh, and the end of Okitu to the end of Tatapouri be reduced to 70kmh?
