Among the many Gisborne and East Coast musicians whose skills have matured from years of practice and performance untrammelled by the demands of international touring is Abhudaya who played saxophone and flute at the recent Tairawhiti Men of the Year awards.
Joined by multi-instrumentalist Baye Riddell the duo played “easy listening dinner music” that included Bob Marley’s Redemption Song, and Simon and Garfunkel’s El Condor Pasa.
