Family Notice - Bereavements

EWAI (BLUE) POKAI 24.10.1951 - 2.3.2017 We, the whanau of Ewai (Blue) Pokai, wish to extend our thanks and gratitude to the many people who helped us throughout Dad's journey. To Dr Sarah Callaghan, Oncology and Day Ward, Hauora Tairawhiti, Turanga Health, Hospice Tairawhiti, and the wonderful staff, nurses, and caregivers at Te Wiremu House for the special and genuine aroha and manaaki you all gave Dad and us. He loved and appreciated everything you did for him, and so did we. To our ministers Rev Jack Papuni, and Eru and Gwenda Findlay for your leadership, prayers, and guidance throughout Dad's journey, right up to the time we laid him to rest. To all our Puketawai Marae whanau, cooks, and helpers. To Evans Funeral Services for the wonderful support and assistance. To Dad's workmates from Fulton Hogan Gisborne and Fulton Hogan Te Puia, and teammates and friends from the various sports, clubs, and hobbies he enjoyed over the years. To all our whanau and friends who travelled from near and far to share in Dad's journey and his farewell. The flowers, mementos, cards, emails, texts, messages, phone calls, and donations of food and koha were greatly appreciated. Please accept this as a personal acknowledgement. Dad fought a brave and courageous battle over the past two years. You all played a special and important part in his life. We love you all and thank you from the depths of our hearts. Arohanui, Maryanne, Aidan, Mischelle, and whanau
