Best on the Coast

BEST ON COAST: Young Tikokino farmer and technical field officer Hamish Best is the North Island East Coast regional FMG Young Farmer of the Year winner and he said he was honoured to represent the region in the final event. Best produced a “commanding” performance to convincingly take the title in Waipukurau last Saturday. The 26-year-old, raised on a sheep and beef farm, said he had put in a lot of hard work ahead of the regional final and it had paid off. The regional Young Farmers chairman will undoubtedly have plenty of support following him to the Manawatu for his chance at bringing the FMG Young Farmer of the Year title home. The regional runner-up was 24-yead-old Daniel Tarbottom from Tararua. Picture supplied
