Steady sale at the fair

STEADY SALE: About a thousand head changed hands in the cattle fair at the Matawhero saleyards yesterday, described as a "steady sale." The top price of $2200 was paid for a couple of bullocks. "The bulk of the cattle sold pretty well," said Peter McGrannchan from PGG Wrightson. "The Hereford bulls sold exceptionally well." There was strong support by buyers from the Waikato and central Hawke's Bay. A full sale report in Focus on the Land on Saturday. Picture by Liam Clayton
