Stock for daffodil day

WELL DONE: Hats off to the farmers of the district who donated stock for last Friday's annual Cancer Society Daffodil Day fundraiser sale at the Matawhero saleyards. The sale of the more than 250 sheep donated combined with other donations at the saleyards on the day raised more than $30,000 for the cause. Andy Woolfield from the ANZ Bank and Pamela Murphy, the executive committee president of the Gisborne-East Coast Cancer Society were pictured during the sale. The 20 donated store lambs in this pen for example, all from one farm, sold for $138 a head. Picture by Trevor Brown
