Farm sells above capital value at auction

A FARM inland from Wairoa at Awamate sold for $4.25 million at auction on Tuesday. The property sold for more than 70 percent above its capital value of $2,430,000.

Described as a great property for stock finishing, the auction at the War Memorial Hall for Claremont Farm was well attended.

LJ Hooker agents John von Pein and John Ross said it was a terrific auction with a fantastic number of people on the floor and a lot of interest in the sale.

The successful buyers were a couple from Gisborne and Tiniroto who secured the 383ha property, which included a home, woolsheds, implement sheds and lockable workshop and three hay barns.
