HAWKE’S BAY police have an investigation under way into the theft of $150,000 worth of tractors and gear used by orchardists and they want any information they can get about it.

“We need the public’s help to solve this crime, and would appreciate any sightings of this property,” police said.

The vehicles were taken from a property on Elwood Road, Tomoana, Hastings sometime between Saturday, January 13 and Monday, January 15.

“These types of tractors are not uncommon in this region, but if you see one and you’re not sure whether to report it, call us anyway and we’ll make the necessary checks.

“If anyone tries to sell this gear to you, we’d also like to hear from you,” Hawke’s Bay police said. One tractor is a Same Frutteto Natural, with a white hour meter which measures how many hours the tractor has been in use.

Serial number: NNZ7502VOBS530004.

The second is a Goldoni Star 380. Serial number: 606965.

The sprayer is a Croplands DSV — PFNZ registration 10694.
