FEDERATED Farmers have opened entries for their Gisborne/Wairoa Hill Country Farmer of the Year competition and the clock is ticking now. They close on February 5.

The competition celebrates excellence in pastoral farming in the Gisborne and Wairoa District Council boundaries.

“Have you thought of entering? Farmers tend to assume they ‘aren’t quite ready yet'. Give it a go and find out,” a competition spokesman said.

“Comments from past entrants are consistent. They say the feedback highlights opportunities and gives them confidence to go ahead with planned initiatives.”
