EAST Coast farmers will get the opportunity to meet and talk to the Minister of Agriculture, Damien O’Connor, at the 2018 East Coast Farming Expo to be held at the Wairoa showgrounds next month.

The two-day expo runs on Wednesday April 11 and Thursday April 12.

“With trade sites at capacity and the seminar line-up a real feature with excellent speakers and topics, we are looking forward to having the minister with us,” said expo director Dave Martin.

“To date, farmers in the Hawke’s Bay and East Coast regions have had to travel long distances to interact directly with agricultural innovators.

“Not only will farmers have a chance to mix with national businesses at the expo but they will also have an opportunity to meet the minister,” he said.

Mr O’Connor has acknowledged these were interesting, challenging and exciting times in the primary sector.

“Together we must address the staggering pace of market and technological change and progress a shared vision for a better New Zealand,” he said.

  • Tickets will be available at the gate for $10 per day, or online at http://www.eastcoastexpo.co.nz. The ticket price includes entry to all seminars.
