Ruie Bridge at the Tolaga Bay Dog Trial.

The Tolaga Bay dog trial club, based on Mangaheia Station, put on an excellent finale to the club dog trial season in the Poverty Bay centre last Friday and Saturday.

The courses were “immaculate, sharp and well set up". It was a great way to end the season.

The four events winners (in order) were Sheena Martin from Wairoa, Leo Edginton (Tolaga Bay), Merv Utting (Waimata) and Tim Lamont (Tolaga Bay).

Ruie Bridge has been consistent this season. James Griffin had a good crack at it, and it was a special trial for Larry Hoole after he had finished his run in the long head. Noddy Halley had a useful run in the short head and yard.

Focus on the Land would like to record sincere thanks for the way trials PR person Maria Jeffery has stepped up to the plate with coverage this season - great job!
