Ratanui Angus from Tauwhareparae got Bull Week off to a great start with a top price of $30,000 and an average of $9235 across the 34 bulls sold in the Matawhero saleyards rosturm at midday on Monday.

Studmaster Mel Story was a happy man. The Kaharau Angus Stud on-farm sales rostrum was “chocker” on Monday night to see Rangatira and Turiroa Angus combine to pay a New Zealand high price of $95,000 this sales season. Lot 7 was their second-highest earner at $50,000 as stud manager Nick Carr looks on.
