Time for show hoggets again

The Short Contracting ewe hogget competition is on again at the Poverty Bay A&P Spring show and now is a good time for would-be entrants to identify a few hoggets to prepare them for the show.

“With fantastic prize money offered by our sponsor Short Contracting, it would be great to see the pens fill with entries,” said organiser Mark Candy.

“This year there will be one category to encourage more entries.”

The competition is for a pen of three shorn or woolly ewe hoggets, and entries can only come from commercial flocks. The entrant with the Grand Champion pen receives the Short Contracting Cup.
