Cedenco will wrap up its annual pea harvest in the next week and so far it has been down on expectations, says agronomy manager David Oudes.

The crop has been harvested around Wairoa and at Mahia.

The focus in the past week has been on crops on the Poverty Bay flats.

"So far the harvest has been a little bit down on what we expected, due to rain in early spring."

The company had hoped to harvest 1800 tonnes of peas this season.

"We should be finished by December 10."
