Rimu Hills farmer Hamish Newman explained the cow milking process to the Aurora students.

The Aurora Education Foundation field trip to Hamish and Paula Newman’s dairy farm at Matawai last week was a big success.

The children involved had a great day despite the bleak, wet and cold conditions.

“They all seemed to enjoy the cows, calves, milking and all round experience with plenty of great questions and conversations,” a spokesman said.
