The magic machine — along with Sally — works out the best option for me to rejuvenate my skin

WELCOME: Charlotte McMillan is the friendly face you will see on your arrival at Juve.
RELAXING: Juve owner Sally Wright’s experience and professionalism relaxed Jane Smith as she had Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatment to treat pigmentation on her skin.

Gisborne Herald advertising manager Jane Smith has one of the most exciting, relaxing and rejuvenating days of her life when she has a skin treatment at Juve . . .

Award-winning beauty spa Juve may have a simple ethos but it comes with huge consideration for its clients and the backing of extensive training and research. Owner and para-medical skin therapist Sally Wright is driven by excellence and it is an expectation she has of all her team. It’s a highly-qualified staff of five skin and beauty therapists, a beauty specialist and front of house who look after the clients at Juve.

“We have more than 40 years industry experience in the team,” says Sally. “We have been here a very long time and have rightfully built up that trust and confidence of the region.”

At Juve, all high-tech treatments are done by qualified and experienced skin and beauty therapists.

“They have the background knowledge to know why things are happening in and on a client’s skin and how best to treat them for successful outcomes.”

Many of their treatments focus on skin confidence, and Sally recommends a scan and plan be done to ensure the right treatment follows.

“It analyses and sorts out the priorities so we can put together an effective plan, tailor made for each person.”

Gisborne Herald advertising manager Jane Smith gives her thoughts on an IPL – Intense Pulsed Light – treatment she received at Juve.

“Firstly, I am the most terrible person with my skin, but do want to start looking after it, as day by day, it’s going . . . the sad truth is that I’m ageing.

“My first appointment, saw me scanned by Sally’s new high-tech machine which measures moisture, pores, wrinkles, roughness, spots, sensitivity, UV acne and UV spots. It prints out the most amazing report, giving you your age, determined by your skin. It had to be one of the most exciting days of my life – I am 45 years old and came out at 40.

“I proudly showed this print-off to anyone who was near me that day. One slightly embarrassing part of the process was the print-out also showed areas where maybe I wasn’t cleansing enough, which in a way was great, as I can focus on these, and work with Sally on fixing the rest.

“The magic machine – along with Sally – also works out the best option for me for rejuvenating my skin. Mine was the Lotus Package, which includes building block treatments, needling, IPL and home care. One week later I head back to Juve’s glorious rooms, ready for action. Sally let me know everything that was about to happen and what I could expect – for a novice like me, this put me at ease.

“Sally’s experience and professionalism relaxed me – she sure knows her stuff. We chatted about her amazing machines, the masses of research she always does and I was able to lie back and enjoy the Juve experience.

“The IPL process was very calming. Sally lathered up my face, covered my eyes, applied goggles, and put some super glasses on herself, not that I could see this. The process was quick and easy – afterwards when Sally was reapplying my make-up, with her gorgeous Jane Iredale mineral make up, all I could see were some tiny freckle-like spots on my face, which after three days were gone, leaving my skin to feel magical, softer and beautifully plumped up. I’m now ready for the next stage, and can’t wait to make the most out of it.”
