TITOKI Street near the Elgin shops was cordoned off by police yesterday afternoon in response to what has been described as a domestic dispute, with concern a gun may have been involved.

Police were called to a house in the street just before 12.30pm.

“There were initial suggestions a firearm may have been involved but that was unsubstantiated and no firearm was found,” a police spokesman said.

“A man at the address was spoken to by police and then arrested.”

The matter was resolved and the cordons lifted by about 1pm.
