THREE teenage girls have been charged with aggravated robbery after the Aberdeen Road Dairy was allegedly robbed at knifepoint at about 6pm on Friday night.

Police were alerted by shop staff and a police dog team was called in to track the offenders away from the scene.

“The three girls, aged 13 to 17, were arrested soon after,” said Senior Sergeant Lincoln Sycamore.

“It is alleged one of them threatened the shop proprietor with a knife, before they made off with a small quantity of tobacco and cigarette papers.”

The three will appear in the Youth Court this week.
