SEVERAL people posted photos of the vandalism on Gisborne District Council’s Facebook Page and attracted a lot of comment from angry people.

“Who gave them the right to do this? Lots of people use this stopping bay as a rest area. Hope they find out who did it,” one said.

Another said her mother was a neighbour of this area and thought it was motorbikes in the area until she went and looked. It was done between 2.30 and 4.30pm, she said. The council says it is investigating.
