Stolen ute used to steal boat

THIEVES stole a Hi-Lux ute from a property in Riperata Street in outer Mangapapa on Thursday night, then used it to hook up and steal a boat on a trailer from an address in back Ormond Road.

The thefts have been discussed on social media, where people have expressed their disgust and support for the owners.

Police said the thefts occurred early Friday morning.

“The ute was taken around 3am and the aluminium boat on the trailer was stolen about half an hour later,” police said.

They have been on the lookout for a white Toyota Hi-Lux with a canopy on the back.
