Word at the beach on the surf championships

Victoria Stuart: It's been amazing, it is so special watching the groms perform. We are from Auckland so it has been so nice coming to Gisborne. There's nothing to fault.
Tepora Kauwhata: We followed the storm down from Whangarei, but it's been so hot here. This is my son's first nationals so it's awesome to be in such a paradise.
Te Kahurangi Skelton: It's been awesome, the competition has been well run. The weather's been holding out and it's been beautiful.
Phil Griffin: I've been loving it. We're from Mount Maunganui. The surf on the first day was unreal. We always enjoy Gisborne.
Ollie Houghton: The competition's been great. The surf has been pumping and the weather's nice. It's one of the best surfing spots in New Zealand.
Jarred Hancox: Coming from the Taranaki it's a bit different, but I've had really good waves and swell. I've been competing and the waves were wicked when I was out.
Gary McKenzie: It's been excellent, beautiful swell, good people and good weather. Couldn't ask for anything better.
Don Pearson: It's been such an awesome week so far, Gisborne has put it on for the visitors.
Daizee Rawls: It's been a great competition, the weather's been good and great conditions.
Ben Storey: There's been really good weather, good waves and really cool people. The surf's been nice.
