TRACTOR v UTE: A witness to this crash between a tractor and a utility vehicle at Patutahi this week said it was a timely reminder for people to take care on roads in rural areas. Picture supplied

A CRASH involving a tractor and a utility vehicle at the Kaimoe Road intersection with Tiniroto Road, occurred on Tuesday morning at about 10.30am.

The vehicles were extensively damaged but both drivers escaped injury.

Emergency services from Gisborne responded to the incident.

A witness said the woman tractor driver was wearing a seatbelt and sustained no injury.

“Maybe it’s a good time to remind people there are a lot of agricultural vehicle using the roads at this time and care needs to be taken,” the witness said.

Police have initiated an inquiry.
