WORK on the half-million-dollar project on Barkers Hill in Whataupoko involves shoulder widening, stormwater drainage, kerb and channel construction and a new 1.5 metre wide footpath on Barkers Hill Road. A timber retaining wall will also be built.

Tairawhiti Roads general manager Dave Hadfield said the project was progressing nicely.

“Fingers crossed, work should be completed by the end of April, weather permitting,” he said.
