Repair to river wall next week

Repair work will begin on a section of revetment wall below the Peel Street Bridge next week.

A section of walkway will be closed to pedestrians but an alternative route will be signposted.

Gisborne District Council says the repairs will keep water in the channel of the Taruheru River and prevent erosion of the bank and walkway.

Work is scheduled to begin on Monday and be completed by the end of the week.
