Phase one of the Navigations Project is well under way as construction proceeds on the harbourside road reserve and carpark areas.

The inner harbour upgrade will include new car parks, landscaping and lighting. The Esplanade end of Crawford Road has been closed off during construction.

The road surface has been scoured out as has the footpath along the Esplanade in the SoHo and Works restaurant vicinity. Construction in this area is expected to end in June.

Phase two, construction work on the Esplanade between Wainui and Crawford roads, will begin in October when old sewer pipes are replaced with new pipe laid in the footpath on the Kaiti side of the Esplanade.

This will be completed in sections and is expected to take about three months.

From the start of July to August, pipe will be laid in the centre of The Esplanade.
