Tolaga Bay’s Leo Edginton finished day one of the Tux Yarding Challenge at Showgrounds Park yesterday in the top five. Five more finalists will be found from the 70-plus runs today.
Henry Gaddum and Ming top-scored yesterday with 96 points, followed by Larry Hoole and Queen (95.5), Edginton and Kim (95), Jerry Cook and Skip (94.5), and Noddy Halley and Deal (94.25). “It was a good start to the competition, though the wind made the sheep a bit indifferent,” said head steward Rod Mead.
“When the sheep are testing, it brings out the best in the dogs.” Leo Edginton is pictured here with another of his dogs, Larry.
