It's a rite of passage to jump off the Tolaga Bay Wharf, which All Black fullback Damian McKenzie achieved in impressively acrobatic style yesterday.

McKenzie and girlfriend Tessa King have been holidaying in the region and both joined the ranks of those to have leapt from the famous wharf.

Invercargill-born McKenzie, 23, has a huge year ahead as he looks to add to his 23 test matches and 80 points, and ultimately make the All Blacks squad for the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan from September to early November.
