Word at the beach

Kylie Westerlaken: “Spending uninterrupted time with my family. No alarms. We bring the kids here every year. It’s our spot.”
Henry Wylie: “I’m a surfer and I love to surf in Gisborne. It’s a good place. I love it. Very cruisy.”
Stephanie Lamond: “It’s lovely having family time and relaxing. I love the beach, love the water.”
Sel Egan: “Probably seeing the cruise ship coming in. I plan to go for a paddle around the harbour later.”
Phoebe Wylie: “The surfing. It’s nice and gentle and not too hard.”
Lou Curtis: “I’ve loved the easy access to the beach. A lot of things are within walking distance. You can escape town and come here. It feels safe and clean and tidy here.”
Jason Clark: “The Rere Falls rockslide was pretty cool and playing with the kids on the beach is fun."
Phil Barnes: “It has to be the surf beaches. We’re from Nelson. There are no waves there so we love to come to the East Coast.”
Clarke Curtis: “We have a five-year-old son so it’s nice to have a safe beach close by. Last year we stayed in a cabin. This year we’re in a tent to give our son a camping experience.”
Yves Dini: “We’re from Switzerland. We came here from Opotiki via the Pacific Highway over 10 days. Even for us who are used to landscapes and mountains this was outstanding.”
