You can’t beat . . . a Gizzy view, says Rachel

STRIKE A POSE: A selfie from New Zealand model Rachel Hunter’s instagram page, posted on Wednesday, showing Makorori Beach in the background.

Seen out and about in Gisborne this week was former supermodel Rachel Hunter.

The 49-year-old model, actress and TV host was spotted on Gisborne beaches and at a winery, and posted photos to her social media accounts with views of Makorori Beach.

It is understood she stayed at The Blackhouse luxury lodge above Wainui.

Ms Hunter was in Gisborne as celebrity guest at a growers awards night on Thursday.

Auckland-born Ms Hunter began her modelling career as a 16-year-old including becoming the face of Tip Top on the Trumpet television commercial in 1985.

She went on to grace the covers of Sports Illustrated, Cosmopolitan, Vogue Elle, Rolling Stone and Playboy in a glittering modelling career.

She married singer Rod Stewart in 1990.

The couple had two children together — Renee and Liam — but separated in 1999 and divorced in 2006.

Ms Hunter has a website featuring her thoughts on life and a gallery of photos.

She has made numerous television and movie appearances, more recently as a judge on New Zealand’s Got Talent and as host of Rachel Hunter’s Tour of Beauty — a TV series in which she discovers what beauty means in countries around the world.

Ms Hunter lives in the United States.

She turns 50 on September 8.

The Gisborne Herald asked for an interview with Ms Hunter but was declined.
