GISBORNE’S Tayler Reid has finished second in the New Zealand sprint triathlon championships at Kinloch, near Taupo.

The ITU under-23 triathlon 2018 world champion was neck-and-neck with winner Sam Ward through much of the race yesterday and finished 14 seconds behind him.

Ward’s time was 56 minutes 27 seconds.
