Gisborne has a new millionaire.

A Lotto player who bought a ticket from Mangapapa Four Square has all the right numbers to take the cash after last night’s live draw.

Mangapapa Four Square owner Jitesh Ravla said the staff were all really happy the winning ticket came from there.

“We hope whoever won it spends it wisely and also that it has been won by someone who really needs it.”

It had not been claimed this morning.

“We hope it is one of our regular customers, too,” Mr Ravla said.

This is the first million-dollar ticket sold by the store.

“We have sold a first division ticket before but that was shared by three people.”

That was November 2015 when a Gisborne couple won $333,333.

Powerball was not struck last night and has rolled over to Saturday night when the jackpot will be $8 million.

Anyone who bought their ticket from Mangapapa Four Square should write their name on the back of the ticket and check it immediately at any Lotto outlet, online at mylotto.co.nz or through the Lotto NZ App.
