Kaharau pay top dollar at bull sale

KAHARAU Angus on Rimunui Station in Riverside Road paid out the top price in a sale of Umbrella Range Angus bulls last Friday.

The Southland stud on Argyle Station at Waikaia sold 28 bulls for an average of $9733, with a top price of $24,500 paid by Kaharau Angus from Gisborne.

Locharburn Herefords achieved the highest price for South Island bull sales so far this season, of $37,000.

Kaharau Angus will put up 60 of their own rising two-year-olds for sale by on-farm auction on June 24. The Gisborne stud produced a New Zealand high price of $95,000 in their 2018 sale.
