NEVILLE Clark scored four goals as Farmlands beat Bayleys 6-3 in the annual Lane Trophy polo match at Bushmere.

The Farmlands team of Jo Kirkpatrick, Guy Kirkpatrick, Andrew Moore and Neville Clark dominated the game.

Guy Kirkpatrick, a five-goaler from Gisborne now based at Elliston, Australia, added two goals to Clark’s haul.

The Bayleys team of Campbell Chrisp and Marcus Shanks (who played two chukkas each), Cody Clark, Glen Armstrong and Paul Kirkpatrick scored their goals through Kirkpatrick (two) and Clark.

The game provided good competition ahead of matches in and out of the district this month. This weekend, Poverty Bay Polo Club will have two teams at Wanstead, Hawke’s Bay, for the Barrett/Dearden Memorial Tournament.

The teams are —

Poverty Bay A: Paul Kirkpatrick, Marcus Shanks, Campbell Chrisp and Jo Kirkpatrick.

Poverty Bay B: Ruth Peters, Fern McIldowie, Jenny Shanks and Neville Clark.

Over the last weekend of the month, Poverty Bay Polo Club will host clubs from around the country for its annual tournament.
