GISBORNE man Tayler Reid finished down the order at the latest ITU World Triathlon Series race in Hamburg yesterday.

Reid was solid in the swim and the cycle but struggled in the run to place 41st overall in 56 minutes 25 seconds — 2min 17sec behind winner Mario Mola of Spain.

Kiwi Ryan Sissons made the podium for the first time in a world series race, placing third, 15sec behind Mola.

The 29-year-old had to fight his way back in the cycle and run. He was second late in the run but was chased down by Australian Jacob Birtwhistle.

New Zealand’s Andrea Hewitt was sixth in the women’s race won by Bermuda’s Flora Duffy.
