Tough day at badminton nationals

Eastland under-15 players had a tough time on Day 3 of the junior badminton nationals at Palmerston North yesterday.

They lost 16-0 to both Southland and Bay of Plenty White.

Riva-lee Habib had the only three-game match. She won the first game in her singles match against Bay of Plenty White, 21-18, but her opponent came back strongly to win the next two games.

Also against Bay of Plenty White, Manaia Puha and Journey Waru performed well in their second game in the mixed doubles. Having lost the first game by seven points, they lost the second by only two.
