Glenys Whiteman, Dayvinia Mills and Ray Young won Division 1 of Poverty Bay Bowling Club’s Easter Triples Tournament on Saturday and Sunday.

Clear skies, little wind and pleasant temperatures meant conditions were ideal.

Fourteen teams competed in section play on Day 1. Each team had four games, with a time limit of 90 minutes.

The top eight teams qualified for Division 1 on the Sunday and six teams qualified for Division 2.

Some great bowling and spirited competition were on show in both divisions.

The Division 2 winners were Joe Wimutu, Mo Kapua (Saturday), Diane Murray (Sunday) and Mike House.

Results —

Division 1: Glenys Whiteman, Dayvinia Mills, Ray Young 1; Bruce Ball, Jeff Davis, Joy Davis 2; Jan Powell, Ian Carroll, Erin Sutherland 3; Ben Brown, Sarah Brown, Janet Baty 4.

Division 2: Joe Wimutu, Mo Kapua (Saturday), Diane Murray (Sunday), Mike House 1; Queenie Takarua, Tim Sherriff, Ginny Sherriff 2; Ora Peipi, Barbara Gibson, Luke Sanders 3.
