Great Bastille Day celebration

LETTER

I wish to thank the Marina Restaurant for celebrating France’s Bastille Day with some of Gisborne’s personalities. It was not only French people who attended — many others who live here enjoyed good food, laughter and even singing on Friday night. The place was packed and the owners of the restaurant even provided lucky table draws where diners won bottles of French wine. We stood and sang the national anthem and feasted on traditional food — even snails.

Again, thank you. The food was cooked by a French chef and the presentation was special. Parking is no problem and the service was perfect.

It was a great night out, enjoyed by people who all love Gisborne and what it has to offer.

Should consultation on Gisborne city wastewater treatment and disposal include a “do nothing” option as suggested by the Mayor on Thursday, as well as the five options priced at estimated capital costs of $23.5 million to $42.1m which were approved by councillors?
