Esmeralda opportunity

LETTER

How about a crowd-funded Gisborne bid for the Esmeralda Endeavour, as the Rainbow’s End CEO has said if they got a reasonable offer they could sell her “as is” instead of breaking her up for scrap. I think she could be a great asset for our city.

How about the council front with say a 10k starter, which it would only have to actually find if we could negotiate to buy her.

Should consultation on Gisborne city wastewater treatment and disposal include a “do nothing” option as suggested by the Mayor on Thursday, as well as the five options priced at estimated capital costs of $23.5 million to $42.1m which were approved by councillors?
