Cycle park a great facility

LETTER

Congratulations to the Gisborne Wainui Lions Club on the completion of the Lions Junior Cycle Park adjacent to the Adventure Playground. It is a fantastic facility for the children of Gisborne and our holiday visitors’ children.

Completed yesterday just in time for the summer holidays, the Lions are to be congratulated for their perseverance in the face of many challenges so that the whanau of this community have a safe place for young children to learn cycle skills and the road rules.

Well done to the construction team Siteworx Civic, whose long hours made the completion for the holiday season possible. Thanks too to the philanthropic sector which granted funds to the project. Gisborne is very fortunate to have a strong philanthropic sector that works with community groups to make these extra initiatives become a great resource for our community.

Thanks again to the Gisborne Wainui Lions Club — without your commitment this cycle park would not have happened.
