Local roads 'rough as guts'

LETTER

When can we expect our rural roads in Te Araroa to be attended to? I’ve been driving a bus on the Whakaangiangi and Kopuapounamu roads over the past few days and the’re in a shocking condition. I have to contend with large potholes extending across the entire road in places, overhanging tree branches and bad corrugation. Also, there are places where there’s no metal at all. Gone are the days when our rural roads use to be metalled and graded on a regular basis.

Our road in Waiomatatini and Tikapa is the same - big potholes and no stones, just a mud track after this rain . . .

Do you agree with the Mayor that there is a case for returning to zebra crossings in the city centre?
