Thanks for the tour GDC

LETTER

Did the grand tour of the new GDC building on Saturday morning. Very modern and airy, with all the latest bits and bobs. Amazing how many confiscated stereos were in there. I thought the council chamber itself was low-key, modern and functional. I think the computers might be breeding at night when everyone goes home, but I suppose that is the way things are these days. I feel like a poor relation with only one monitor in my home setup.

Thank you to the polite and friendly staff for showing us around. The Civil Defence section was reassuring and apparently, post Bola, we have a really good radio comms setup. Nice to see the old fire station leadlight window incorporated. Loved the accidental smoke effects, just like Rotorua.
