Impacts still 50yrs on

LETTER

I am in my 80s. When I was 30 I had an abortion, very reluctantly, on the advice of a specialist — as my kidneys were not working well. It was traumatic!

Later I spoke to a group about a traumatic event in my life, without spelling out what it was as it was still too painful.

I read many years later of people supplying a lie to cover up any happening that was not spoken about.

Fifty years later I met a woman who said to me “I thought you would have left Gisborne!”

Amazing, gossip is rife and long-lived in Gisborne.

Do you think the speed limit on SH35 at Tamarau, Okitu and Wainui should be reduced to 50kmh, and the end of Okitu to the end of Tatapouri be reduced to 70kmh?
