LETTER

Re: Impacts still 50 years on, June 25 letter.

I believe gossip should be avoided. It is not healthy or constructive.

Surely, when the specialist advised the termination of a pregnancy they would have provided a grief counsellor for her as they would for anyone going through the loss of a child, even back 50 years ago.

Where a person has been asked to pray for another, they don’t need the details. God already knows the whole situation.

The person just needs to know that they have prayer support, so they can face the difficult situation with confidence that they will get through it.

Where people cover something up with a lie it will come to light when they least expect it.

For a person to bring the matter up 50 years later is thoughtless and cruel.

I do pray that Springwater has a compassionate, loyal friend who she can talk to, who will bring comfort to her.

Do you support the call for a feasibility study into developing an "inland port" and sending the district's export logs to Napier Port by rail, to get log trucks out of the city and to repurpose the port and harbour area?
