Homeless, seeking help

LETTER

Many people in Gisborne think that only people in Auckland are homeless. Well they are wrong. Gisborne has them too.

I am a 69-year-old retired lady who has, for the past three months, been looking for a house that allows me to have my pets.

I have been to all the house-letting agents here and all I have got is being pushed aside, and given the run around (I could name them but I won’t).

I have money for bond, rent and more if they require it.

Sleeping in my car is so uncomfortable as I only have a small car to sleep in.

Can anyone please help me?

I hope that someone can help Homeless of Gisborne (12/7/2018). My partner and I found ourselves in a situation like hers in March when we were given a 42-day notice due to the landlord wanting to sell the property. We were almost homeless and had only five days left of the tenancy when we finally found accommodation. Unfortunately we have only been in our new rental for 12 weeks and our new landlord has decided to sell - it is a very stressful time.
