Driving with lap dogs!

LETTER

Living on Ormond Road and sitting at times having a coffee in the morning sun, I am concerned at the number of people who drive past with dogs on their laps.

Surely this must be illegal, as the animal obstructs their vision and if it got down under their feet it would be curtains, for sure. I have seen this happening several times daily. One vehicle even advertised it was an animal care business.

Honestly, it’s a pretty stupid thing and dangerous — probably even worse than texting.

Do you support the call for a feasibility study into developing an "inland port" and sending the district's export logs to Napier Port by rail, to get log trucks out of the city and to repurpose the port and harbour area?
